Examination and Certification
NRMA examination provides an independent assessment of knowledge based on universal standards of testing in the field of Medical Assisting. Certification is defined as a formal statement that an individual has met the qualifications to take the exam and has passed the exam.
Registration
NRMA's obligation to registered members (users) is to provide an accessible online summary of their credentials and related work history.
Members may request to have their profiles edited (information added or removed) as long as they are members in good standing and have paid applicable fees. NRMA reserves the right to edit or delete information from a member profile if a credential has lapsed or expired or is revoked by the issuing institution. Profiles are suspended when active membership expires.

NRMA reserves the right to terminate the membership and accounts of any member who is deemed to have demonstrated behavior that is not in alignment with the core principles of our organization, including; Professional qualification, courtesy and ethics.
Membership
The initial exam fee of $125.00 includes the first year of registration. Thereafter, an annual renewal fee is required to maintain current. The current renewal fee is $40.00 (Subject to change without notice) Renewal is only available to registered members who have not expired.
Members are required to complete a number of Continuing Education Units per year in order to remain active. These are provided free of charge from NRMA.

NRMA is a professional organization that serves to uphold the reputation of the Medical Assisting occupation.
Members and applicants are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in their work and in their communications. You are encouraged to exercise courtesy when communicating with NRMA and anyone with whom you have a professional relationship. Failure to do so is grounds for termination without refund.
Upon payment, you will automatically have access to the exam but it may take up to 7 business days to verify your ID and proof of qualification. (after you email it) This means your online profile will not appear until it has been verified. Please do not inquire about processing before 7 days has passed. This will only slow the process.

- NRMA is not liable for the actions, errors or omissions of the individuals that it certifies.
- NRMA stands for The National Registry of Medical Assistants. NRMA is not affiliated with any other organization of like name or otherwise.
- Certification is not a guarantee of employment.

- Completion of any recognized MA training program and pass the NRMA exam.
- Currently employed as a Medical Assistant for at least 6 months and pass the NRMA exam.
- 6 months previous experience (but not currently employed) and pass the NRMA exam.
In addition, candidates must;
- be 18 or older at the time of application.
- provide a valid Photo ID, proof of education (documents) and/or work experience (resume).
